Detailed itinerary of 4 Days Rwanda and Kenya Combined Safari
DAY 1: Arrival – Volcanoes national park
Upon arrival in Rwanda at Kigali International airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide. Depending on your time of arrival, you will go for a short Kigali City tour before heading to your hotel in Kigali City.
During the city tour, you will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site, the Kimironko Market and Caplaki Craft Village.
Transfer to Volcanoes national park in Musanze, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2: Golden Monkey Trekking – Visit the twin Lakes of Ruhondo and Burera
Wake up early for breakfast and transfer to the park’s headquarters in Kinigi for briefing about golden monkey trekking, a ranger guide will take you through rules and regulations to follow during the experience. You will start the trek into the jungle of Volcanoes national park in search for the golden monkeys, these primates are more active than the mountain gorillas and you will enjoy following them. Golden monkeys are considered endangered species and they are only found in Rwanda, Uganda and DR.Congo.
When you locate the golden monkeys, you will enjoy watching them play, feed and climb trees. Golden monkeys are very playful, stubborn and they love flash photography and you should have a good camera for pictures. Expect to see other primates such as baboons, vervet monkeys among others.
After one hour in the presence of golden monkeys, you will head back to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the evening you will go for a visit to the Twin lakes Burera and Ruhondo where you will enjoy amazing views of the lake and several birds. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3: Gorilla Trekking at the Volcanoes National Park – transfer back to Kigali – fly to Nairobi
On the 3rd day of your 7 Days Rwanda and Kenya Combined safari, Wake up early for breakfast and transfer to the park’s headquarters in Kinigi for a mountain gorilla trekking experience, park wardens and rangers will take you through the rules and regulations to follow during the trek, be assigned a gorilla family to trek. Meanwhile you will be entertained by local dances and a cup of coffee.
Gorilla trekking experience takes approximately 2-6 hours depending on the gorilla you are trekking and where the gorillas spent their previous night. You need to be fit to enjoy the trek, when you encounter the gorillas you will spend one in their presence while enjoying the human like behavior, watch them take care of their young ones, pick fruits and playing around. You can take pictures as long as your flashlight is off, you will then trek back to the park’s headquarters where you will be rewarded with gorilla trekking certificate, head back to your lodge for lunch then checkout and transfer back to Kigali for your flight to Nairobi.
Upon landing in Nairobi, you will be picked up by our Kenya guide and transfer you to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4: Transfer from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park
Enjoy breakfast and head to Lake Nakuru national park – a birder’s haven, along the way you will enjoy the scenic country views arriving in the park in the afternoon. Have lunch at your lodge after checking in and in the afternoon, you will go for a game drive. Lookout for animals such as Rothschild giraffes, cape buffaloes, zebras, African wild dogs and many flamingoes at Lake Nakuru painting the lake pink. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Masai Mara National Reserve – Afternoon game drive
On the 5th day of your 7 Days Rwanda and Kenya Combined safari, Wake up for breakfast and with en-route game drive transfer to Masai Mara national reserve – the most famous wildlife safari destination in Kenya. Along the way you will enjoy the scenic views of the Rift Valley Escarpments and the local people in Narok Town, you will arrive in the park in time for lunch and your lodge. In the afternoon you will go for a game drive on which you will see all the Big 5 that is Rhinos, Buffaloes, Elephants, Lions and Leopards. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 6: full day game drive Masai Mara National Reserve
You will spend the full day in Maasai Mara national reserve on morning and afternoon game drives, with your packed lunch you will head to the endless plains of Maasai Mara national reserve. During the game drives you will explore different sections of the reserve and spot various animals including lions, leopards, antelopes, zebras, elands, giraffes, rhinos, elephants among others. You will enjoy picnic lunch along the Mara river while watching animals, then continue with exploring the reserve. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 7: Visit the Masai Village – Departure to Nairobi from the Masai Mara National Reserve
Have breakfast at your leisure and transfer to the Masai Village for an encounter with the local people, during this cultural visit you will enjoy being entertained by local dance and drama and get a deeper insight in their way of life.
Later transfer back to Nairobi where you will be dropped off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight to Tanzania for your next adventure.
