Detailed itinerary of 8 Days Uganda and Rwanda Primate Safari
Day 1: Arrival
On arrival, our guide will welcome you to Uganda at Entebbe International Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. Spend the rest of the day enjoying the breeze of Lake Victoria, the second largest lake in the world.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, you will meet your guide and depart for Kibale Forest National Park, home of Chimpanzees. The park hosts the largest population of chimpanzees in Africa and 12 other primate species including black and white colobus monkeys among others.
Along the way, you will enjoy scenic views of the landscapes, tea plantations and the Rwenzori Mountains. Have lunch in Fort Portal and continue to the park. Check in at your lodge for a short rest, later go for a guided walk in Bigodi Swamp for incredible encounters with colorful bird species and primates.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking
Wake up early for breakfast, meet your guide and head to the briefing site where a ranger will take you through rules and regulations to follow while in the presence of the chimpanzees. Head into the forest searching for the chimpanzees, on your trek you might have sightings of red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, butterflies and hear bird calls from the canopies.
When you locate a chimpanzee troop, you will be allowed to spend only one hour in their presence taking pictures and witnessing how they spend their daily life in the forest, groom, play and feed. After lunch, head to Bigodi Community for a walk.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Have breakfast, thereafter meet your driver guide and embark on a journey to Bwindi Forest. The journey takes you through the beautiful landscape of Kigezi region with its winding terraced hills, arriving in the afternoon, check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the day at rest or go for a visit to the Batwa Community where you will be entertained by dances and local songs, visit the medicine man and interact with the elders.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing, a UWA Ranger will take you through rules and regulations to follow while in the forest and presence of mountain gorillas. In groups of 8 people, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek, head into the forests looking for a gorilla family. A trek takes about 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend only one hour in presence of the gorillas capturing the finest moments before you trek back to the starting point. Meet your guide and return to your lodge for an evening of rest.

Day 6: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park and Visit Gorilla Guardians Village
After breakfast, we start the journey to Rwanda with border crossing at Cyanika and continue to Musanze, Rwanda arriving in afternoon. Go for a visit to the Gorilla Guardians Village before proceeding to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Golden Monkey Trekking
Wake up early for breakfast, head to the park headquarters in Kinigi for briefing about golden monkey trekking. A senior ranger will take you through rules and regulations to follow while in presence of the beautiful golden monkeys. Head to the starting point and enter in the forests of Volcanoes National Park looking for the beautiful golden monkeys living in the bamboo forests.
The golden monkeys are beautiful amazing creatures which you will watch jumping from one tree to another and feed on shorts of bamboo. They are more active than gorillas, so you have to keep up with them. After this amazing experience, return to the lodge and spend the rest of the day at rest.

Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, you will meet your guide and depart for Kigali with a drive in the beautiful hilly landscape. You will be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight, depending on your flight schedule, you can have a short Kigali City Tour visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre and the Kimironko Market.
