Detailed itinerary of 14 Days East Africa Safari Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be warmly welcomed by our guide and transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi.

Day 2, 3&4: Masai Mara

Experience the authentic “Out of Africa” Experience in Masai Mara

The Masai Mara National Reserve is undoubtedly Kenya’s most notable and revered reserve, its sheer size extending to and eventually joining Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park and stringent anti-poaching systems have made it famous for its thriving lion, cheetah, and leopard populations.

The reserve’s name is attributed to the Maasai tribe, who call the area home. Their original name for the land, “Mara”, refers to the vast landscape speckled with animals and acacia trees and the cloud shadows that characterize the area. Masai Mara is home to abundant wildlife including the Big Five – lion, leopard, buffaloes, leopards and elephants and The Great Migration.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru

Part of the Rift Valley Soda Lakes, Lake Nakuru may often seem pink in color as thousands upon thousands of flamingoes forage for succulent treats, while black and white rhinos plod along the shoreline. Keep an eye out for heft pythons that have been known to slink across the road as they make their way to and from the woodlands surrounding the lake.

Day 6&7:  Amboseli National Park

Spend beautiful days under Kilimanjaro’s watchful eye

Amboseli National Park is a vibrant oases of swamps teeming with life stretching 40,000 hactres. In the distance, Mount Kilimanjaro’s expansive base culminates in its snow-covered peaks seen rising from the earth across the border. The dry month’s bare vegetation offers the perfect environment for relatively unobstructed views of the park’s inhabitants.

During the game drives you will see large herds of elephants and other animals including zebras, buffaloes, lions, cheetahs, wildebeests and giraffes among others. You will also visit the village of Maasai people on Village visit, learn about their traditions and nomadic lifestyle.

Day 8: Transfer to Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

Have early breakfast, exit Amboseli and drive to Arusha with en-route lunch. Continue to Lake Manyara National Park.

Characterized by cliffs, verdant acacia woodlands, open savannahs, and reflective waters, Lake Manyara’s diverse landscape is home to an array of wildlife. Its shores see hippos wallowing in its alkaline water alongside flamingoes picking at succulent treats hidden beneath the surface. During the game drive some of the animals to lookout for include zebras, giraffes, the rare tree climbing lions, elusive leopards among others.

Day 9&10: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

The two days are dedicated to exploring Serengeti National Park – home of endless plains and the Great Migration.

Stretching itself across 1.5 million hectares of land, The Serengeti is known for its impressive population of wildlife – most notably the Big 5. Perhaps it is more renowned for being part of the stage on which the annual Great Migration, this grand annual spectacle is when millions of wildebeest, followed by gazelle and zebra, seek greener pastures and dodging predators along the way.

Day 11&12: Ngorongoro Crater

Spend these two days exploring Ngorongoro Crater, part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) since 1973. A side from boasting a fertile floor and thus an abundance of wildlife notably the Big 5, the crater is also only intact caldera left in the world.

During the game drive in the Crater Floor you will see several animals including the Big 5- lion, elephant, buffaloes, rhinos and leopards. You will also visit Lake Magadi at the corner of the crater floor where you will be treated to sight of large flocks of pink flamingoes and other birds such as cormorants and pelicans among others.

Day 13: Tarangire National Park

Spend a full day in Tarangire National Park exploring.

Tarangire is a hidden gem in Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit. With herds of elephants, lions and other game flocking to Tarangire River banks and swamps during the dry seasons. During the game drive lookout for large herds of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, gazelles among others. You will enjoy picnic lunch and continue exploring Tarangire National Park’s spectacular landscape dotted with acacia trees and baobab trees.  Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Departure

After breakfast, you will transfer back to Arusha where you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home.
