DETAILED ITINERARY OF 8 DAYS MAASAI MARA AND SAMBURU FLYING SAFARI
Day 1: ARRIVAL Nairobi
On your arrival in Nairobi using Jomo Kenyatta International airport you will be picked by your safari-drive guide and be transferred to your hotel in the city, have dinner and stay overnight for a Kenya Safari.
Day 2: FLY TO MAASAI MARA
Have breakfast at your lodge, checkout and go for a city tour visiting Nairobi national Museum, the giraffe center and the local markets where you will have an amazing learning more about vibrant city. Have lunch and drive to Wilson airport for your domestic flight to Maasai Mara national reserve one of the best wildlife viewing destinations on the African continent, the reserve is a home to a huge population of wildlife including the big 5 (lions, leopards, elephants, cape buffaloes and rhinos).
When you land at one of the airstrips serving the reserve such as Serena airstrip, you will be picked by your safari driver-guide and go for a game drive watching a number of animals such as wildebeests, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, cape buffaloes and many more. Later return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3 & 4: full day in MAASAI MARA
You are to spend the 3rd and 4th days of the 8 days Maasai Mara and Samburu flying safari exploring Maasai Mara national reserve while doing morning and afternoon game drives with picnic lunch, on these game drives you will enjoy exploring various regions of Maasai Mara national reserve and have a chance to spot a variety of animals living in the reserve such as lions, leopards, wildebeests, cheetahs, hyenas, African wild dogs, wildebeests, hartebeests and many more.
Have picnic lunch set in the wilderness of the reserve most especially around the banks of Mara River and go for another game drive. Later return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: Hot air balloon and visit the local Maasai people
Have early breakfast and head to the reserve for a hot air balloon experience, you will go to the designated site where the balloon is being prepared and you will enjoy as it is being inflated. Climb into the basket of your balloon and start off with the flight, while the balloon is in the sky you will enjoy aerial views of the Maasai Mara plains and numerous animals such as lions, elephants, leopards, wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, giraffes among others.
After the hot air balloon you will have a bush breakfast accompanied by champagne then drive back to the lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you will head to the Maasai local community for a cultural tour. In the Maasai village you will interact with locals, be entertained by local dances and drama, participate cattle rearing and get a taste of the local meals.
In the evening you will return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight at Mara Serena lodge
Day 6: Fly to SAMBURU national park
Have breakfast at your lodge, checkout and drive to the Serena airstrip for your flight to Samburu national park, the flight takes approximately 3 hours, on your arrival you will be picked up by your safari driver and go for a game drive. Samburu national reserve is a home to a variety of wildlife such as Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffe, leopards, striped hyenas, the African civet, African wild dog and many more which you will enjoy watching on the game drive.
At lunch time, you will head to the lodge and in the afternoon you will return for another game drive exploring the reserve more. Later return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 7.Morning game drive and visit the SAMBURU people
Wake up early for a cup of coffee and head to the reserve for an early morning game drive for sights for animals such as lions, leopards, hyenas, elephants and cape buffaloes among others. After the game drive you will return to your loge for late breakfast, lounge around in the lodge’s swimming as you wait for lunch. After lunch you will head to the Samburu village for a cultural encounter, the Samburu people have a unique culture and traditional practices such as
as early as 06:00 am you will head out to the park for an early morning game drive on which you will spot a number of animals including lions, Maasai zebras, leopards, elephants, African buffaloes and many more. Then return to your lodge for late breakfast as you wait for lunch., after lunch you will drive to the Samburu community for a cultural tour on which you will enjoy watching the unique traditions, norms and practices of the local Samburu people, interact with them and then be entertained by locals and drama. Then return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge.

Day 8: Transfer back to NAIROBI
after breakfast you will checkout of your lodge and embark on a journey bact to Nairobi where you will be dropped off at the airport for your departure back home.
