Detailed itinerary

Day 1; Arrival and transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at the airport, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at Hilton Garden Hotel

Day 2: Transfer to Masai Mara

After breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi, meet your driver guide to drive you across the floor of The Great Rift Valley, the longest rift in the crust of the earth to Masai Mara National Game Reserve via Narok.

Arrive in time for lunch. This is the world’s most famous reserve known for having the highest concentration of plains’ game together with their assorted predators. Bisecting is the Mara River with its populations of Hippos and Crocodiles.  After an afternoon siesta, you embark on a late afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mara Simba lodge – Mid-range/Mara Sopa lodge for luxury

 Day 3: Masai Mara full day 

Early morning game drive and return to camp for breakfast. After breakfast Full day in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents, The Masai Mara plains are full of wildebeest during migration season early July to end September, zebra, impala, topi, giraffe, Thomson’s gazelle are regularly seen, leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetah, jackal and bat-eared foxes. Black rhino are a little shy and hard to spot but are often seen at a distance if you are lucky. Hippos are abundant in the Mara River as are very large Nile crocodiles, which lay in wait for a meal as the wildebeest cross on their annual quest to find new pastures. Day 4: Transfer to Nakuru national park

After breakfast, enjoy en route game drive searching for the missed animals. Later embark on your journey to Lake Nakuru, you will pass through Narok with en route lunch.  You will arrive with game drive proceeding to your lodge for check in. Dinner and overnight at Nakuru Lodge (Mid-range)/Sarova Lion hill lodge for luxury

Day 5: Full day Nakuru national park

Wake up early, enjoy breakfast and connect for an early morning game drive to explore more of the park’s beauty. During the game drive spot animals like the lions, leopards, hyenas and different antelope species. Later afternoon drive to Lake Nakuru and enjoy the views of huge numbers of flamingo birds on the lake shores and other bird species. In addition to the bird life of the park, explore the park’s wildlife spotting animals like the black and white rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas and zebras. Before night fall return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above

Day 6: Nukuru – Jinja town (Uganda)

Early morning breakfast at your camp, check out of the camp and park and drive to cross over to Uganda via Busiya border. Proceed to spend a night in Jinja-source of the Nile and Lake Victoria. Dinner and overnight stay at Jinja Nile Resort/Wildwater lodge for luxury

Day 7: Visit the source of the Nile visit – Kampala city

After breakfast, meet your driver to take you for your half day rafting activity, return for lunch then most importantly visit the source of the Nile, there after drive for 3 hours to Kampala arriving late evening. Dinner and overnight at Naguru Skys Hotel (both Luxury and mid-range)

Day 8: Transfer to Kibale National Park

You will have breakfast and then drive to Kibale. En-route, you will visit the amabere ganyinamwiru stalagmites and waterfalls site in Fort Portal and the crater lakes. Have lunch and proceed to Kibale arriving late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at Kyaninga Lodge (luxury)/ Chimpanzee Forest Guest House (mid-range)

Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking – Kibale forest

Take early morning breakfast and go for briefing and start chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale’s 795km2 National Park contains one of the most beautiful and with the most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is place to a number of forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primate coupled with chimpanzees.

After trekking,g you will have lunch and then visit Bigodi wetland where you will experience a lot of bird life and unspoiled nature! Later transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Dinner and overnight at Kyambura Gorge Lodge (luxury)/ Park View Safari Lodge (mid-range)

Day 10: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enjoy breakfast and go for morning game drive through Kasenyi area where you will encounter African elephants, herds of buffaloes, eland, bushbuck topis, and warthogs among others. Visit Katwe salt pans and witness salt mining in Uganda and return to your hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a boat cruise down the Kazinga Channel for some more incredible game viewing. You will see countless hippos, buffalos and a vast array of birds, perhaps including the African Fish Eagle and shoebill stork. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (luxury)/ Park View Safari Lodge (mid-range) as above.

Day 11: Ishasha Sector, Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will transfer to Queen Elizabeth’s southern Ishasha sector in the morning. This is a dry and wild savannah region, much less developed than the Mweya peninsula. The game viewing is very good and in particular the region is famed for its tree-climbing lions. Stay overnight in Ishasha at Wilderness Camp (both).

Day 12: Transfer to Bwindi National Park (4 Hours)

You will make a morning tour of the Ishasha sector, in hope of seeing more lions and the elusive leopard. Then say goodbye to Queen Elizabeth and head down to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park arriving in the afternoon. Check in, unwind, dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs Lodge (luxury)/ Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge (mid-range)

Day 13: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After an early morning breakfast, you will depart with your packed lunch and proceed to the park headquarters for briefing and take to the forest for gorilla trekking! Your child can spend that time at the hotel or in the company of guide as they visit around. Gorilla Trekking can take an hour or four depending on the movement of the gorillas. The time remaining after visiting the gorillas can either be spent relaxing and remembering the trek or hiking in the foothills and visiting local communities. Dinner and overnight at lodge as above

Day 14; Transfer to Kampala to connect for your flight

After an early cup of coffee, you will embark on your journey back to Kampala. You will have a brief stop at the equator for photography and experimentation and an en route lunch in Mbarara arriving in the evening for your scheduled flight back home.
