Detailed itinerary of 8 Days Classic Primates & Wildlife Holiday
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Shoebill Tracking at Mabamba Swamp
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and drive to your hotel in Entebbe. In the afternoon you will head to Mabamba Swamp to meet the prehistoric shoebill. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Enjoy early breakfast, then embark on a journey to Western Uganda across the beautiful landscapes of Uganda with vast cultivated plains, banana plantations and cattle farms. Have brief stopover en-route at Mpambire and watching the making of traditional and local artefacts, have another stop at The Equator for amazing pictures.
Have lunch in Fort Portal and continue to the park, check in at your lodge and have a short rest. Later in the day you will head to Bigodi Swamp for a guided on which you will have sight of baboons, black and white colobus monkeys and many birds.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest
Wake up early and head to the park visitor centre by 7:30 am for a chimpanzee trekking adventure in Kibale Forest.
Kibale Forest National Park is commonly known for the diversity and density of primates in Africa. It stands out as the best place to watch chimpanzees up-close in their natural setting, with over 1500 chimpanzees under the park’s rainforest canopy and dozen other primate species.
On your trek to find the chimpanzees, you will spot other primates like the rare L’Hoest Monkey, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, olive baboons and grey – cheeked mangabeys.
The trek takes approximately 2to 6 hours depending on the local of the habituated chimpanzee troops, you are allowed to spend 1 hour in their presence watching them go with their life in the forest, groom each other and take amazing photos. Trek back to the park headquarters, meet your guide and head back to your lodge for lunch.
Spend the rest of the day at your lodge reminiscing about the day’s activity. Have dinner and overnight.
Overnight at Chipundu Safari Lodge
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After a delicious breakfast, checkout of your lodge and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival in the park you will embark on a game drive enjoying sights of various animals including lions, leopards, buffaloes, Uganda kobs among others.
Head to the lodge for lunch after check-in, in the afternoon you will head to Kazinga Channel for boat cruise. Your eyes will be treated to amazing sight of Nile crocodiles and schools of hippos in the water of the channel and elephants and buffaloes drinking water along the channel.
After this amazing experience, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Full in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Spend a full day exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park’s savannah plains.
After a delicious breakfast, head to the park’s Kasenyi Plains on the western shores of the stunning Lake George, just near the area where the Kazinga Channel confluences with this beautiful lake. The area is a major breeding area for the Uganda kobs within this park, because of the presence of prey, predators such as lions, leopards are commonly seen here.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Forest via Ishasha Sector
After breakfast, bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth National Park and head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Ishasha Sector where you will have a chance to spot the tree climbing lions lounging on branches of fig trees.
Along the way you will have en-route lunch, arrive in the park in the evening. Spend the rest of the lodge preparing yourself for today’s amazing activity.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
Wake up early for breakfast, meet your guide and head to the park’s headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking and the right way to behave while in the presence of the gorillas. You will be grouped into 8 people and assigned a gorilla family to trek, head to the starting point and enter into the forests of Bwindi looking for the mesmerizing mountain gorillas.
The trek takes approximately 2to 6 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spend their previous night, when you locate your family you will be mesmerized by their huge size and fur covered body. You are allocated one hour of being in their presence watching them go on with their life in the forest under a watchful gaze of a dominant silverback. You are allowed to take as many photos as you wish as long as your flashlight is off.

Return to the lodge for an evening or relaxation or head to the Batwa Community for an immersive culture experience, in the Batwa village you will be entertained by local dances and drama, interact with the elders and get to taste some of the local brew.

Day 8: Departure
Have a leisurely breakfast, then embark on a journey back to Kampala with lunch en-route lunch in Mbarara. Your guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport to catch your flight back home bring your safari to an end.
