Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer for Murchison Falls National Park
Depending on your location in Kampala, you will be met by our company representative and drive to Murchison Falls National Park-Uganda’s largest national park. The park is a habitat for big 4 game. However, you have an opportunity to meet the Rhinos on a stopover for about 2 to 3 hours at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino trekking. After there, embark on your journey to the home of the magnificent falls, visit the top of the falls and later connect to your lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at Pakuba safari lodge (Mid-range)/Hornbill Lodge (Budget)/Nile Safari Lodge for luxury
Day 2: Game drive and launch cruise at the bottom of the falls
After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will go for a morning game drive on the delta area. The activity takes about 3-5 hours and be able to view variety of wildlife including elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Hartebeest, Uganda kobs, Oribis and waterbucks. After the drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon go for a launch cruise on the along the Nile which will give you an exciting panoramic view at the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. Along the cruise, you will encounter crocodiles, hippos, and birds on the river banks like kingfisher, cormorants and bee-eater. After viewing the falls at the bottom, you will meet your driver who will transfer you back to your lodge as above
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park
You will have breakfast early and then set off to Kibale forest national park with lunch en-route, it’s a full day drive. Arrive and proceed to Kibale arriving late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge for mid-range/ Kibale Forest Lodge for budget/Chimpundu Lodge for luxury
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi nature walk
Have early morning breakfast and go for briefing and start Chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale’s 795km2 National Park contains one of the most beautiful and with the most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is place to a number of forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primate coupled with chimpanzees.
After trekking, you will have lunch and then visit Bigodi wetland where you will experience a lot of bird life and unspoiled nature. Dinner and overnight at lodge as above.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
After breakfast, you will meet your safari guide and transfer to Bwindi national park, which is about 6 hours’ drive with en-route lunch. Upon arrival to the park area, you will proceed and check in your lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Community Rest Camp for budget/Buhoma Haven lodge for mid-range/Mahogany Springs Lodge for luxury
Day 6: Gorilla trekking experience – Buhoma sector
Have breakfast and transfer you to park offices for briefing about Mountain Gorilla trekking by a local guide. The time taken is usually between 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Meeting the gorillas unexpectedly is one of the most captivating lifetime experiences. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures at very close range. You will observe adults feeding and groaning among themselves. After an hour with the long-awaited gorillas, your guide and rangers will lead you back to the starting point where your driver will readily be waiting to transfer you back to the lodge for a restful evening.
Those will stay back at the lodge will go for a community walk to the community around the park (this activity is optional to do so it’s not included in the tour price below). Have dinn
Day 7: Transfer to Entebbe – Departure
After breakfast, embark on your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe. It’s about 8-9 hours drive to Kampala/Entebbe. Upon arrival and depending on your drop off advice, you will either be dropped at a location you advise the driver or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
