Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick-up and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Depending on your location in Kampala, you will be picked-up by our company representative/guide who will then transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. It’s about 6-7 hours’ drive with en-routes at the stopover at the Uganda Equator, proceed for lunch in Mbarara town. On arrival in the park, you will proceed and check in your lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at Elephant Plains Lodge for luxury/Elephant Hub Lodge for Mid-range/Bush Lodge for budget
Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.
You will wake up early, have breakfast and embank for an early morning game drive in the Kisenyi region for the lion tracking experience where you will be guaranteed to see the lions. Expect to see other game like antelopes, warthogs and white Colobus monkeys just to mention a few. You will then return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go for a launch cruise along Kazinga channel where you will get an opportunity to see a number of bird species, elephants and buffalos, hippos and crocodiles at the Lakeshores. Return and relax at lodge as above
Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge and Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
After breakfast early in the morning, you will depart for Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura forest with your tracking gears. The walk in the forest in search of the chimpanzee generally takes around 2‐5 hours. Spend an hour with the chimpanzees, return meet your driver and connect to transfer to Ishasha sector for an opportunity to spot the tree climbing lions, have lunch then after embark your 4-5 hours journey to Bwindi national park. Arrive in the park late afternoon and connect to your lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma lodge for luxury/Buhoma Haven lodge for mid-range/Buhoma Community Rest Camp for budget
Day 4: Gorilla trekking experience and optional Batwa community tour
On the 4th day of your 14 Days Uganda and Kenya Safari, Have breakfast and transfer you to park offices for briefing about Mountain Gorilla trekking by a local guide. The time taken is usually between 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Meeting the gorillas unexpectedly is one of the most captivating lifetime experiences. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures at very close range. You will observe adults feeding and groaning among themselves. After an hour with the long-awaited gorillas, your guide and rangers will lead you back to the starting point where your driver will readily be waiting to transfer you back to the lodge for a restful afternoon/evening. Day 5: Transfer back to Entebbe (8-9 hours’ drive) – Fly to Kenya
Enjoy early morning breakfast, transfer back to Entebbe with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch, and the Equator. It’s an 8-9 hours’ drive arriving in the evening. Upon arrival at Entebbe International airport, proceed to check-in for your evening flight to Kenya.
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta international airport, meet your safari guide who will be briefing you about the safari and transfer to your hotel in Nairobi town. Day 6: Visit Crescent island visit in Lake Naivasha – Transfer to Nakuru national park
On the 6th day of your 14 Days Uganda and Kenya Safari, After breakfast, meet your safari driver very early and connect to Lake Naivasha, which is about 3-4 hours’ drive from Nairobi. Upon arrival, visit Crescent Island Game Sanctuary – a peninsula or island on the eastern side of Lake Naivasha. A short boat trip from the mainland out into Lake Naivasha gives you access to the unique Crescent Island Wildlife Sanctuary which hosts giraffes, waterbucks, elands, wildebeests, zebras, and impalas. It is also a haven for more than 200 species of birds. The lake has a lot of hippos which you can easily spot from the island. Among the resident birds are fish eagles, ospreys, lily-trotters, black crakes, and a variety of herons.
After en-route lunch, proceed to transfer to Lake Nakuru national park for extra 2-3 hours’ drive. Lake Nakuru is best known for its large masses of flamingo birds and home to the famous black and white rhinos. Day 7: Full day game drive in Lake Nakuru national park
Wake up early, enjoy breakfast and connect for an early morning game drive to explore more of the park’s beauty. During the game drive spot animals like the lions, leopards, hyenas and different antelope species. Later afternoon drive to Lake Nakuru and enjoy the views of huge numbers of flamingo birds on the lake shores and other bird species. In addition to the bird life of the park, explore the park’s wildlife spotting animals like the black and white rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas and zebras. Before nightfall return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above
Day 8:– Transfer to Masai Mara national reserve – evening game drive – about 4-5 hours
After breakfast, Thereafter, across the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Masai Mara Game Reserve the unspoiled Savannah. It’s about 3-4 hours’ drive, Masai Mara is actually the northern portion of the Great Plains ecosystem in neighbouring Tanzania bordering Serengeti national park. It is home to the big five games such as the lion, buffalo, rhino, leopard, and elephant as well cheetah, zebra, giraffe, and vast herds of plain antelope and numerous and other wildlife.
Upon arrival, have lunch then connect for an afternoon game drive in search of the big five. As the sun starts to edge dip into the horizon, it will be the perfect time to photograph the beautiful Mara rolling plains. Don’t forget this is the right time to spot the shy leopard. Day 9: Masai Mara full day game viewing
After breakfast, full day in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents, The Masai Mara plains are full of wildebeest during migration season early July to end September, zebra, impala, topi, giraffe, Thomson’s gazelle are regularly seen, leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetah, jackal and bat-eared foxes. Black rhinos are a little shy and hard to spot but are often seen at a distance if you are lucky. Hippos are abundant in the Mara River as are very large Nile crocodiles, which lay in wait for a meal as the wildebeest cross on their annual quest to find new pastures. Day 10: Masai Mara safari experience hot air balloon and community tour
Wake early and be picked up by the air balloon team for your hot air balloon safari which starts in the early morning, just in time for sunrise. For about one hour you will be floating peacefully above the ground, with a bird’s eye view of the African bush below. The capacity for this activity is limited making this a very special and exclusive experience. Breakfast will be provided and thereafter connect back to the lodge.

After lunch, connect for a community tour in a Masia village/Masai Loita Hills for a cultural experience. On this experience, you will enjoy getting a deeper insight into the Maasai culture by interacting with the local Maasai people, be entertained by local dancers, drama and Maasai warriors; buy local Maasai items such as local Maasai Shukas, beautifully made accessories such as necklaces and earrings and taste local cuisines. After the experience, you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight at lodge as above
Day 11: Fly to Diani Beach (Own booked flight) – Beach afternoon
On the 11th day of your 14 Days Uganda and Kenya Safari, After early morning breakfast, check-out of the lodge and transfer to the airstrip to check-in for your connecting flight to Diani beach. Flight with Safarilink departs Masai mara airstrip at 11:00 am and arrives at Wilson airport at 12:25 pm. Upon arrival, connect for your next flight to Diani, departing Wilson airport at 14:00 hours and arrive at Diani airport at 15:15 hours.
Upon arrival, meet your driver and connect to your booked hotel for check-in, spend your afternoon at the beach. Day 12: Explore Mombasa town
On the 12th day of your 14 Days Uganda and Kenya Safari, After breakfast, meet your driver and connect to Mombasa for a city tour, visit the the Akamba Task, stone town, Forty Jesus and the spice market with en-route lunch in Mombasa. Later afternoon, drive back to Diani at your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel as above
Day 13: Wasini Island tour
After breakfast, meet your driver and drive to Wasini for a full day Indian Ocean experience. Take on a Dhow ride on the Indian Ocean to explore the Wasini island for to enjoy the snorkelling, diving and dolphin spotting experience. Enjoy en-route with an option of experience seafood. Later evening, meet up with your driver and return to Diani. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel as above
