DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale forest national park.
Transfer to Kibale forest national park: On the 1st day of 4 days Kibale forest and Ngamba Island chimpanzee trekking safari, you will either be picked from a hotel in Entebbe / Kampala in case you spent an overnight in Uganda before the safari or else you will be picked direct from Entebbe international airport upon landing and be driven to Kibale forest national park in Toro kingdom which is about 6 hours’ drive thus you require to land at least before midday to create enough time for a road drive from Entebbe to fort portal. Lunch will be enjoyed enroute and upon arrival to kibale forest national park, you will proceed to check in your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest and Bigodi nature walk.
Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest: Breakfast will be served very early in the morning on day 2 of 4 days Kibale forest and Ngamba Island chimpanzee trekking safari then pack enough drinking water and meet your safari drive to be driven to Kanyanchu where the park headquarters for Kibale forest national park is situated. While at the park headquarters, you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts during chimpanzee trekking. After briefing, you will be led into Kibale forest alongside armed rangers and professional local tour guide to search for habituated chimpanzees in their natural habitats. Since Kibale forest national park is a primate haven with 13 primate species thrilling in the park, you will be able to encounter with other primate species such as Olive baboons, Red tailed monkeys, Grey cheeked Mangabey, black and white Colobus monkey and many more without forgetting to look out for mammals, birds, butterflies, and identifying different plant species. The entire trek lasts between 30 minutes and 4 hours but once you get closer to the chimpanzees, you have one hour with these mighty primates in their natural habitats taking photographs and watching their manners. Trek back to Kanyanchu to meet your safari drive who will return you to the lodge for lunch.
Bigodi guided nature walk: Later in the afternoon, you will embark on a guided nature walk taking you to Bigodi wetland sanctuary the best destination for birding safari in Kibale forest national park. While on a walk, look out for more primate species, mammal species, bird species and identify different botanical species with the local guide explaining how some plants are used as medicinal herbs to tree different infections. Return to your lodge later in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive from Kibale forest national park to Entebbe
Drive to Entebbe: Enjoy your breakfast at leisure on day 3 of 4 days Kibale forest and Ngamba Island chimpanzee trekking safari then check out and embark on a road drive to Kampala with an enroute lunch. Expect to arrive in Kampala in the evening and proceed to check in your hotel in Entebbe for a brief evening city tour, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee viewing at Ngamba Island and departures.
Chimpanzee viewing at Ngamba Island and departures: After breakfast on day 4 of 4 days chimpanzee trekking safari, you will set off to explore Ngamba Island where you will visit the orphaned chimpanzees being protected with in a sanctuary. To access Ngamba Island, you will need to take a boat cruise at the shores of Lake Victoria while viewing a variety of wildlife especially water birds. While at Ngamba Island, you will spend time watching the chimpanzees as they play, copulate, breastfeed, groom the young ones and also you may take part in feeding these chimpanzees together wither caretakers. There are other species to look out in the sanctuary including other mammals, birds, and the flora of the sanctuary among others. After spending ample time at Ngamba Island, you will embark on a boat cruise to return to the shores of the lake with a stopover at the Equator line. Upon landing at the shore of Lake Victoria, enjoy your lunch and return to your lodge to freshen up, check out, and finally be dropped off at Entebbe international airport for departures.
