Day 1: Arrival and Kigali city tour
Arrival in Kigali Rwanda and city tour: Since most of Rwanda flights land in the afternoon, you will be expected to land at Kigali international airport on day 1 of 4 days Congo Eastern lowland gorilla trekking safari where you will be welcomed into Rwanda the land of a thousand hill by our company representative in Kigali Rwanda who will drive you to your hotel to freshen up, have late lunch and embark on an evening Kigali city tour. Kigali city is blessed with plenty of tourist attractions ranging from the Genocide memorial sites that introduce you to the bloody murder of several Rwandese that lost their lives during the 1994 genocide, the beautiful Kimironko market which is visited by almost every traveler while on a city tour in Kigali, craft shops and many other fascinating places within Kigali city. Later on, return to your lodge for dinner and have rest.

Day 2: Transfer to Bukavu in Democratic Republic of Congo
Transfer from Kigali to Bukavu Congo: After enjoying a relaxed breakfast on day 2 of 4 days Eastern lowland gorilla trekking safari, check out of the lodge, meet your Rwanda safari driver to start the 6-7 hours’ drive from Kigali city to Bukavu in Democratic Republic of Congo. It’s a long journey yes but the attractions along the way are more than stunning ranging from the clear view of beautiful Lake Kivu, the coffee plantations along the way, the rolling hills and many more. You will enjoy a stopover at some genocide sites, kings’ palace and any other attraction that is worth a stop. Enjoy your enroute lunch and finally enter into DRC through Cyangugu border where you will be cleared to obtain a Congo visa and a gorilla trekking permit and finally proceed to the lodge for a check in, dinner and overnight as you close the 2nd day of your safari awaiting the most fascinating activity the next day.

Day 3: Eastern Lowland gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Beiga National park
Eastern Lowland gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Beiga national park: On day 3 of 4 days Congo Eastern lowland gorilla trekking safari, wake up on a cup of coffee for breakfast or any other meal that will be served for your breakfast, pack some snacks, drinking water and a lunchbox. Meet your safari driver to start the journey and be driven to the park headquarters of Kahuzi Beiga national park to meet other trekkers for a briefing. After briefing, you will be led into the forest to search for the habituated Eastern lowland gorillas in their natural habitats. The entire trek lasts from some minutes to several hours depending on the movement of gorillas since they are always on a move searching for food. You will eventually spend one hour closely viewing the gorillas, taking photographs and interacting with them. Remember to keep your Camera flashlight off as long as you’re in the habitat of Gorillas and keep a distance of 7 meters away from the gorillas for safety purposes. Return to the park headquarters to meet your driver and be returned to your lodge for a relaxed dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Return to Kigali for departures
Drive back to Kigali for departures: Depending on your flight details, enjoy a relaxed breakfast on day 4 of 4 days Congo Eastern lowland gorilla trekking safari, check out of the lodge and start the 6-7 hours’ drive from Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo back to Kigali the capital city of Rwanda with an enroute lunch. Upon arrival in Kigali, your safari driver will drop you off at Kigali international airport to start the check in process for an evening or night flight to the next destination or back home depending on your travel plan.
