DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival & hotel transfer
Welcome to Kenya: Upon landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on day 1 of 14 Days Kenya Wildlife safari & Nairobi city tour, you will be welcomed by our company representative who will brief you about your 14 days Kenya safari as you embark on a few hours’ drive to your reserved hotel in Nairobi for relaxation from a tiring flight and this will mark the end of your 1st day in Kenya.
Day 2: Nairobi city tour – Nairobi national park
Full day Nairobi excursion: After breakfast at your hotel on the 2nd day of your 14 Days Kenya Wildlife safari & Nairobi city tour, you will meet your safari guide/ drive for a full day Nairobi tour. Nairobi has a lot to see and do during your Kenya safari. You will begin with the adventurous safari to Nairobi national park which is located a few minutes’ drive from the city center. During your tour in Nairobi national park, you will enjoy game drive to spot plenty of park dwellers including Elephants, Buffaloes, lions and many more. After the game drive, you will connect back to your lodge for lunch and spend your afternoon exploring more attractions in Nairobi city including the Giraffe center, Stedmark gardens, Snake park, elephant orphanage, Museum of Nairobi, Bomas of Kenya and many more. You might not visit all the attractions in Nairobi thus your guide will choose at least 2 to 3 activities for you. Later on, connect to your hotel for dinner and grab night rest.
Day 3: Transfer to Maasai Mara national reserve
Drive to Maasai Mara national reserve: After breakfast at your hotel on day 3 of 14 Days Kenya Wildlife safari & Nairobi city tour, you will set off from Nairobi in the morning and embark on a 5-6 hours’ drive heading to Maasai Mara National Reserve. During your drive to Maasai Mara national reserve, you will enjoy views of the rift valley escarpment as you drive through Kenya’s scenic highlands. You will have a stopover in Narok town to have a cultural experience of the Maasai culture as you interact with the local community and get to know their traditions and way of life, watch traditional dance performances, see local art and craft work such as beaded jewelry in different patterns and colors. You will proceed to Maasai Mara national reserve where you will see different wildlife species grazing in the nearby savannah plains as you continue your drive to your lodge for check in as you prepare to have your dinner and to spend the night at your reserved lodge/ camp.
Note: You can as well opt for a fly in Maasai Mara from Wilson Airport in Nairobi.
Day 4: Full day in Maasai Mara National Reserve – Optional Hot Air balloon
Full day game viewing in Maasai Mara: 4th day of 14 Days Kenya Wildlife safari & Nairobi city tour is set aside for a full day game viewing in the plains of Maasai Mara national reserve. You will enjoy all day game drive starting with the morning game drive till late in the evening for the evening game drive.
Morning game drive: You will have breakfast served at your lodge as you prepare to go for your morning game drive in Maasai Mara national reserve. During your game drive, you will see a variety of wildlife species such as the predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs as well as other wildlife species like elephants, buffalos, hartebeest, zebras, antelopes as well as wildebeest which are among the spectacular sights at this destination especially during the time of the wildebeest migration as large numbers of wildebeest move around the savannah plains in search of greener pastures.
Evening game drive: Lunch will be served at your lodge after your morning game drive and this will be followed with another game drive later in the evening to explore more of the wilderness of Maasai Mara national reserve which is also known for sightings of the big five which includes elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos. You will return to your lodge where your dinner will be served and you will spend the night in the comfort of your lodge
Day 5: Transfer to Lake Nakuru national park
Drive to Lake Nakuru national park: You will have breakfast at your lodge in Masai Mara national reserve on day 5 of this 14 days Kenya safari then check out of the lodge as you continue your journey to Lake Nakuru national park across the rift valley escarpment as you enjoy the beautiful scenery around you. You will have an en route game drive during which you will see wildlife species such as giraffes, rhinos, gazelles, buffalos, antelopes, reedbucks, elands, impalas among others.
Game drive in Lake Nakuru national park: Lunch will be served at your lodge after check in and after lunch, you will have another game drive in Lake Nakuru national park and you will visit the flamingo filled Lake Nakuru which is a good birding spot to see flocks of flamingos along the lake shores as well as other bird species and wildlife species grazing in the nearby plains. You will be driven back to your lodge after your evening game drive to have your dinner and overnight at your reserved lodge/ camp.
Day 6: Full day in Lake Nakuru national park
Full day excursion in Lake Nakuru national park Early in the morning on day 6 of 14 Days Kenya Wildlife safari & Nairobi city tour, head to the park for an early morning game drive looking for predators such as lions and early risers such as antelopes, zebras and many more. You will also have a boat ride on Lake Nakuru enjoying the breeze of the lake and many birds such as pink flamingoes, cormorants among others and hippos on the shores of the lake.
Return to the lodge for late breakfast and rest for a while, after lunch you will head to the local community for a visit enjoying the local culture and practices including their unique way of dressing, taste local meals and interact with locals . Return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 7: Transfer to Lake Naivasha
Drive to Lake Naivasha: After early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru national park, breakfast will be served on day 7 of 14 Days Kenya Wildlife safari & Nairobi city tour then check out of the lodge and embark on your journey from Lake Nakuru national park to Lake Naivasha all situated in the Great Rift Valley region of Kenya. In 1-2 hours’ drive, you will be in Lake Naivasha, proceed to check in your lodge for lunch and later on enjoy an optional afternoon boat cruise to view plenty of aquatic wildlife including Hippos, crocodiles and lots of water birds. You will as well enjoy the beautiful crescent Island which as well offers fascinating views of different fauna and flora species. You may also opt for a game drive in Hells gate national park till the sun goes down. You will then retire to your lodge for dinner and have a night rest at your reserved lodge/ Camp.
Day 8: Transfer to Amboseli national park
Drive to Amboseli national park: After breakfast on the 8th day of 14 Days Kenya Wildlife safari & Nairobi city tour, you will check out of the lodge and embark on a drive to from Lake Naivasha to Amboseli national park .You will arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, you will have lunch as you prepare to go into the wilderness of Amboseli national park to see different wildlife species grazing, roaming and hunting in the savannah of the national park. You will enjoy photography as well as the views of Mt Kilimanjaro in the backdrop of the national park during your game drive as you enjoy the beautiful scenery and the sunset. Some of the wildlife species you will see as you explore Amboseli national park include elephants, lions, buffalos, hippos, impalas, zebras, giraffes, gazelles, and lesser kudu among others. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.
Day 9: Full day in Amboseli national park
Full day excursion in Amboseli national park: After breakfast at your lodge on day 9 of 14 Days Kenya Wildlife safari & Nairobi city tour, your wildlife viewing experience in Amboseli national park will begin with breakfast at your lodge and then you will proceed for a morning game viewing experience and to enjoy photography in the savannah plains of the national park which is home to herds of elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, antelopes, zebras, antelopes, lions, leopards among others as well as different bird species. You will return to your lodge for lunch in case you never packed a lunch box and later in the evening, you will have another game viewing experience to search for wildlife species and to enjoy the sunset after which you will be driven back to your lodge for your dinner and to spend the night at your lodge.
Day 10: Transfer to Tsavo West national park
Drive to Tsavo West national park: On day 10 of 14 Days Kenya Wildlife safari & Nairobi city tour, wake up early for a cup of coffee and head to park for an early morning game drive starting as early as 0600hrs, early morning game drive offers an opportunity to watch a number of animals such as elephants, lions, leopards among others. You will return to your lodge for late breakfast then checkout and drive to Tsavo West national park, arrive in the park in time for lunch and you will have en-route game drive as you head to the park. After lunch you will head to the park for an afternoon game drive enjoying sights of many animals such as lions, leopards, buffaloes, cheetahs, wild dogs, mongoose, hyrax, dik-dik among others. In the evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight
Day 11: Full day in Tsavo West national park
Full day game viewing in Tsavo west national park: After breakfast on day 11 of 14 days Kenya safari, meet your Kenya safari driver for a full day adventure in the park where you will enjoy a wildlife viewing session encountering with the man eaters, elephants, zebras, giraffes, watch the underwater hippos, explore the caves such a shetani caves that were featured in the movies titled “the Ghost and Darkness”, visit Mzima springs that act as source of water to Mombasa town and many other attractions in the park. On this day, you may leave your lodge with a packed lunch or else return to the lodge during lunch hours for a meal and return to the park till the sun goes down as you return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Transfer to Tsavo East national park
Drive to Tsavo East national park: On day 12 of 14 days Kenya safari, Wake up as early as 06:00am you will head to the park for an early morning game drive on which you will enjoy watching early risers such as lions, leopards, hyenas, cheetahs, buffaloes, hyrax among others. You will also visit the Mzima Springs for viewing hippos, crocodiles, exotic fish and a variety of birds. After the game drive you will head back to your lodge for late breakfast, you will later checkout and embark on a journey to Tsavo East arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. Tsavo East forms one of the largest protected areas in Kenya famously known for man eaters and red elephants, the is a home to a variety of wildlife such as rhinos, lions, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, lesser kudu, gerenuk among others. After the game drive you will return to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 13: Full day in Tsavo East National park
Full day excursion in Tsavo East national park: On day 13 14 days Kenya safari, you are expected to wake-up as early as possible for breakfast then meet your safari driver to start exploring the beauty that lies within Tsavo East National park starting your day with an early morning game drive that will introduce you to nocturnal wildlife as they return to their hiding places. You will also drive amidst other mammals that rise up very early to graze on fresh vegetation cover including Buffaloes, Rhinos, Elephants, Antelopes, Hartebeests, Impalas, Elands plus the carnivores as they target their next meals such as cheetahs, Leopards and plenty of bird species that will make your game drive more rewarding. During lunch time, you will return to the lodge for a hot meal though some people prefer moving with a packed lunch box to avoid interrupting with your day’s activity and spend an entire day on a game viewing safari.
Day 14: Transfer back to Nairobi
Tsavo East national park to Nairobi: On the last day of your 14 days Kenya wildlife safari & Nairobi city tour, head out to the park before sunrise for an early morning game drive enjoying sights of leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, wild dogs among others. After the game drive you will head back to your lodge, have late breakfast then later checkout and embark on a journey back to Nairobi.
