BIRD LIST OF LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
Bird List of Lake Nakuru National Park : Lake Nakuru national park is recognized birding haven and one of the best birding destinations in Kenya popularly known for greater and lesser flamingoes flocking the shores of Lake Nakuru, Lake Nakuru national park covering an area of 188 square kilometers protects Lake Nakuru a shallow alkaline lake. The Lake catchment is bounded by Menengai crater to the north, the Bahati Hills to the northeast and the Lion Hill ranges to the East, Eburu crater to the south and the Mau Escarpment to west.
Lake Nakuru national park is a Ramsar Site boosting about 450 bird species including 5 globally threatened species namely Masagascar Pond-Heron, Lesser Flamingo, Pallid Harrier, Great Spotted Eagle and Great, the park is a home to a record of 1,496,000 water birds together with large concentrations of greater flamingoes among others thus Bird List of Lake Nakuru National Park.
