5 Days Ngila Classic Safari (No Mount Nyiragongo) is one of the luxury Congo gorilla trekking safari that includes 5 days and 4 nights starting in Kigali to Virunga national park for a triple gorilla trekking adventure and then back to Kigali for departures. The package therefore comes with 3 gorilla permits, 4 nights in luxury lodges where you will spend the 1st, 2nd and 3rd night at Ngila lodge then spend the 4th night at Mikeno lodge. The package also includes a visit to Senkwekwe gorilla orphanage.

Detailed Safari Iitnerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to virunga national park
Transfer to Virunga national park: On the very 1st day of 5 Days Ngila Classic Safari (No Mount Nyiragongo), you will be picked up from your hotel in Kigali where you spent an overnight and our company representative will brief you about this 5 days Congo excursion as you drive from Kigali city heading to Goma. While in Goma, you will head to the park management of Virunga national park for clearance, obtain your Congo visa and 3 gorilla trekking permits then proceed your journey to check in at Ngila Lodge for late lunch and spend your evening at leisure awaiting dinner and overnight.

Day 2: First gorilla trekking in Virunga national park
1st gorilla trekking in Virunga national park: After an early breakfast on the 2nd day of 5 Days Ngila Classic Safari (No Mount Nyiragongo), pack enough drinking water, snacks and lunchbox then wear your favorite gorilla trekking gear and be transferred to Bukima police post where all the gorilla trekking adventures in Virunga national park start from. While at Bukima, you will meet a group of other trekkers, experienced rangers and porters for hire. You will be briefed by the rangers about the dos and don’ts during gorilla trekking, the possible encounters and many other information that will make your 1st trek more fascinating. After briefing, you will be lead into the wild to search for the habituated mountain gorilla family in Virunga national park. The entire trekking duration takes about few minutes to several hours depending on different factors such as movement of a gorilla family, speed of the trekkers, nature of the terrains and many more. Once you finally find the gorilla family, you have just one hour of close interaction at a recommended distance between trekkers and gorillas as advised during the briefing which is probably 7M apart, take as many pictures as you can as long as you keep your shatter sound and camera flash light off at all the time while in the home of the primates. Once your one hour elapse, you will be led back to Bukima police patrol to meet your safari driver and be returned to Ngila lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Second gorilla trekking in Virunga national park
2nd Gorilla trek in Virunga national park: Enjoy an early breakfast once again on day 3 of 5 days Ngila classic Congo package without Mount Nyiragongo just like the previous day and repeat the same procedure of packing water and lunch box and be driven back to Bukima police patrol for a 2nd gorilla trekking adventure. During the briefing, you are free to request for a different gorilla family otherwise you will find yourself with the same gorilla family you trekking on the previous day. After briefing, again you will be led into the wilderness of virunga national park to spend another one hour with the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitats. Later on, be returned back to your lodge to enjoy a Barbeque dinner and spend your 3rd and last overnight at Ngila Lodge.

Day 4: Third gorilla trekking in Virunga national park and visit Senkwekwe gorilla orphanage
3rd gorilla trekking in Virunga national park: Early in the morning on day 4 of 5 days Ngila classic Congo package without Mount Nyiragongo, enjoy your breakfast served, check out of the lodge with packed lunchbox and return to Bukima police post for the 3rd gorilla trek to sum up a triple gorilla trekking adventure in Virunga national park. Ensure that again your inform the ranger of the gorilla families trekked in the previous 2 days so as to be allocated a different family or in case you feel like re trekked the one you already trekked , also feel free to request for it during the briefing. After briefing, off to the forest you head with armed rangers and porters to sum up your gorilla trek. Spend one hour as usual and return to Bukima to meet with your safari driver for a drive to Mikeno lodge where you will check in. While at Mikeno lodge, you have a golden opportunity of spending your entire evening at Senkwekwe gorilla orphanage visiting the orphaned gorillas that lost their parents. Return to your lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Drive back to Kigali Rwanda for departures
Transfer back to Kigali: Depending on your departures time on the 5th day of 5 days Ngila classic Congo package without Mount Nyiragongo, you will wake up for breakfast at leisure then check out of the lodge to meet and be driven back to Kigali with an enroute lunch. Upon arrival in Kigali, enjoy a Kigali city tour where you will explore different parts of the city with unique attractions including Kigali genocide memorial sites, craft shops, beautiful kimironko markets and any other destination in Kigali that is worth a visit as long as time allows you. During the city tour, be sure of meeting with lots of beautiful and welcoming Rwandese that will make your stay in Rwanda more rewarding and finally be dropped off at Kigali international airport to catch a flight to the next destination or back home depending on your plan.
