Detailed Itinerary of a 5 Days Golden Monkey Habituation and Gorilla Trekking Adventure
Day 1: Pick Up and Drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Entebbe, you will be met by our company representative—your driver-guide and start your 10 hours journey to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Have a stop at the Equator Crossing for a chance to stand in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres and take amazing pictures, as well as lunch in Mbarara.
Continue with your journey to Mgahinga arriving in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast, you will report at the park headquarters for briefing and registration. From here, a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger will brief you about gorilla trekking and the right way to behave while in the presence of the gorillas as well as in the forest.
Head into the forest looking for the Nyakagezi Gorilla Family, traversing the dense forest. Upon locating the gorillas you will have the opportunity to spend one hour in the presence of the gorillas watching them play, feed and groom each other.
Later, trek back to the starting point and return to your lodge for an evening of rest, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Habituation Experience
Just like the previous day, wake up early for breakfast and return to the park this time for the golden monkey habituation experience. You will have a briefing, and with armed ranger guides together with scientists and researchers, head into the forest looking for the golden monkeys, which are only found in the Virunga Conservation Area, spanning Uganda. Rwanda and DR Congo.
Golden monkey habituation experience offers you ample time with these beautiful endangered creatures; watch how they get used to human presence. Take as many photos and videos as you wish on top of having a closer encounter with them. After this grand primate experience, head back to your lodge for an evening of rest, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park – Boat Ride
After breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for a game-viewing experience. Arrive in the afternoon for a delicious lunch at your lodge. Later, head out for a boat ride on Lake Mburo, where you will observe hippos, Nile crocodiles and water birds such as African fish eagles, Kingfishers, African finfoots, Long crested eagles, and starlings, among others.
After the thrilling experience, you will have an evening game drive as you head back to your lodge. Animals to look out for include giraffes, buffaloes, elands, topis, impalas, bush bucks, oribi, warthogs, vervet monkeys and baboons, among others. Have dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 5: Walking Safari and Departure
Wake up early for breakfast, and head to the park for a morning walking safari providing you with a close-up view of wildlife such as impalas, topis, zebras and gazelles, among others. After the experience, bid farewell to Lake Mburo National Park and drive back to Kampala or Entebbe with a lunch stop along the way.
You will be dropped off either at the airport or at a hotel in Entebbe or Kampala.
