Detailed itinerary of the safari
Day 1: transfer to volcanoes national park
The 1st day of the 3 days Rwanda gorilla safari is for arriving in Rwanda’s Kigali city using Kigali international airport and transfer to Volcanoes national park, upon your arrival you will be picked up by a safari guide who is a representative of Focus East Africa Tours and then transfer to Kigali. Depending on the time of your arrival you will have a city tour visiting Kigali Genocide Memorial centre, crafts markets and Kandt national museum. After the city tour you will have lunch then embark on a drive of 2 hours heading to Volcanoes national park, when you arrive in the park you will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: mountain gorilla trekking
The 2nd day of the 3 days Rwanda gorilla trekking safari is for meeting the glorious mountain gorillas on a mountain gorilla trekking experience, after early morning breakfast at your lodge you will meet your safari drive and head to the park’s headquarters for briefing. In the briefing, rules and regulations to follow will be read to you, be allocated a mountain gorilla group to trek and hire a porter. After the briefing session you will start you trek in to the forests of Volcanoes national park in search for mountain gorillas, locating mountain gorillas depends on the location and movement of mountain gorilla family you are trekking and your ranger guide will know where to find them. Upon locating the gorillas, you will have a 1 hour’s stay within the presence of mountain gorillas, trekkers are allowed to take pictures as long as your flashlight is off. After one hour you will trek back to the headquarters then go to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will lodge around your lodge, in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.
Day 3: Iby’Iwacu cultural village tour and transfer back to Kigali
The 3rd day of the 3 days Rwanda gorilla trekking safari is for touring the Iby’Iwacu cultural village and then transfer back to Kigali for a drop-off, after a relaxed breakfast session you will pack your belonging, checkout of your lodge and head to Iby’Iwacu cultural village for a mesmerizing Rwanda cultural tour Iby’Iwacu village also referred to as the guardian village is a home to Rwanda local people with some members being former poachers who depended on the forests of Volcanoes national park for survival, this village exhibits a rich taste of Rwanda’s culture and history. While on your tour in this village you will get a chance to meet the local people learn and experience their culture, traditions and their daily way of life, you can participate in activities like Visting the traditional healer, a local bananas brewing site, learning hunting techniques, buy local artisans made by the locals and also learn craft making.
After the tour you will embark on your drive back to Kigali and upon your arrival, you will have lunch and then be dropped off at Kigali international airport for your departure flight.
