Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Kigali city tour – transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

Depending on your location in Kigali city, meet your driver and connect to Kigali city for a brief Kigali city tour visiting the Kandt Musuem or Kimironko market or the Kigali Genocide memorial site or all places depending on your time of arrival in Kigali.

Late afternoon, transfer to cross to Uganda via Cyanika border to connect to Bwindi impenetrable national park with en-route lunch. Upon crossing to Uganda after clearing with the immigration, proceed to your booked lodge in Bwindi for check-in, dinner and overnight stay at Ruhija Gorilla Guesthouse for budget/Gorilla Mist Lodge for budget/Kiho Safari Lodge for luxury

Day 2: Gorilla trekking Uganda – Batwa community tour

Enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing by the ranger guides and later head into the forest for your trek. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. These primates roam the park freely and there is no way of telling where they will be for a particular day. On finding them, you will be allowed 1 hour to view and take photos of these gentle primates, enjoy your lunch packs and meet your driver / guide and transfer back to your lodge.

The time after trekking, connect to visit the Batwa community that stays close to the park. The Batwa people are the indigenous people of Uganda who stayed in the Park Forest before it was gazetted as a national park. Learn more about the Batwa from their way of life to enjoying the songs and dance of the Batwa. Later evening drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park – Ishasha game drive

After breakfast early in the morning, transfer to Kibale national park via Ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth national park for an opportunity to spot the tree climbing lions and other animals. After lunch, connect to your lodge in the northern part of the park with en-route crater lakes visit. Dinner and overnight stay Chimpanzee Forest lodge for mid-range/Chimpundu lodge for luxury/Isunga Lodge for budget

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking – transfer to Entebbe

Wake up early and drive to Kibale Forest to the briefing point before you head in the forest in search of the exuberant chimpanzees groups in the Kibale forest. Tracking chimpanzees in their natural habitat as they swing from the branches in the canopy high above the forest floor, is a thrilling experience. Though they can be difficult to spot, you will be in no doubt of their presence as the forest is alive with their noisy calls. Spend an hour in their presence.

After trekking and en-route lunch, embark on your journey to Kampala/Entebbe which is a 6-7 hours’ drive. Upon arrival, connect to your booked hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Horizon Hotel for budget/ Best Western Garden Hotel for mid-range

Day 5: Fly to Nairobi – transfer to Lake Nakuru national park

After breakfast, depending in your flight schedule to Nairobi. The driver will drop you off at Entebbe airport for your own-booked flight to Nairobi.

Upon arrival, meet your safari driver will pick you up to start your journey to Lake Nakuru national park. You will first explore Nairobi city visiting the Elephant orphanage or the Giraffe centre and the Karen Museum. Have en-route lunch as you connect to Lake Nakuru national park, which is about 4-5 hours’ drive. Upon arrival late afternoon, check-in at your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Safari Lodge for mid-range/Punda Milias Camp for budget

Day 6: Morning game drive – transfer to Masai Mara national reserve

After breakfast, connect for game drive in the park. Lake Nakuru is known for its large masses of flamingo birds, other birds to be seen include; the African fish Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Green Wood Hoopoes, Cliff Chat, Great White, and Pink Backed Pelicans plus other intra- African Migrants. Its home to the famous black and white rhinos. Also, expect to see animals like the lions, leopards, hyenas, and different antelope species and explore the park’s wildlife spotting animals like the black and white rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, and zebras.

With en-route lunch, connect to Masai Mara Game Reserve the unspoiled Savannah. It’s a 3 hours’ drive, Masai Mara is actually the northern portion of the Great Plains ecosystem in neighbouring Tanzania bordering Serengeti national park. Upon arrival, check-in at your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sentrim Lodge for budget/ Julia’s River Camp for mid-range

Day 7: Full day game drive in Maasai Mara

Wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and grab your packed lunch and meet your safari driver to head to the plains of Maasai Mara for a full day adventure in this stunning savannah vegetation of Masai Mara as you watch many animals in large numbers such as lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeests, zebras and many more. You will enjoy your picnic lunch and proceed for a game drive till the sun goes down. In the evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight at lodge as above

Day 8: Transfer to Serengeti national park via Isabenia border

You will have a very early breakfast and checkout from the lodge to embark on your journey to Serengeti national park in Tanzania. You will have an en-route game drive on your way to Isebania border where you will be crossing the border. This day will take you to other side of Masai Mara as you exit the park via Olololo gate in Mara west.

Upon arrival at the border the customs office will do clearance after which, meet your Tanzanian driver guide to proceed to Serengeti where you will enter the park with the game drive lasting up to 2 hours as you enjoy the plains of Serengeti. The Serengeti allows you see the big five game in plenty. Dinner and overnight at Tukaone Serengeti Camp for budget/Serengeti Bush Camp for mid-range

Day 9: Full day game drive in Serengeti national park

Have early breakfast, get parked lunch and go for a full day game drive we start from far North around the Mara river in case you came on the opposite month when the migration will start from Serengeti after missing it from Mara Kenya side now this will be you turn to enjoy the best. Spend the whole day looking for these animals like Hippos, Elephants, Buffalos, Giraffes, Lions, Hyenas, Cheetahs, Antelopes, Hartebeest, zebras mention but a few. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at lodge above

Day 10: Another day in Serengeti national park

After your delicious breakfast, meet your driver and embark on a drive to Serengeti national park with your panic lunch. The central sector is known for its masculine lions and you will also encounter a great number of other wildlife. Later afternoon, you will drive to Central Serengeti for the game drive. In this area of the park, you will have the opportunity to see big pride of lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, Hyenas, Giraffes, Elephants, different Antelopes, and other wildlife. Later in the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at either lodge as above

Day 11: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater

After your cup of tea, have our lunch boxes and drive through the park and connect to Ngorongoro conservation area where you will descend into the crater 600m down crater. The crater is where we find one of the biggest volcanic calderas in the world; it occupies over 1 million animals with all the big five including the rare black rhino present. Other animals include Lions, leopards, cheetahs, Elephants, Buffalos, Giraffes, zebras and others.  Later afternoon/evening, drive to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Hhando Coffee Lodge for budget/Karatu Tented Lodge for mid-range

Day 12: Transfer to Arusha – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to embark on your journey to Arusha. It’s a 3-4 hours’ drive with en-route stop for sightseeing. You will be dropped off at your booked hotel in Arusha or at Kilimanjaro airport for your onward flight back home.
