DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth national park
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park: On the 1st day of 5 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari, you will either be picked up from your hotel in Kampala or from Entebbe international airport upon landing and start the journey heading to western Uganda which one of the most visited region in Uganda the pearl of Africa. The entire journey takes about 7 hours’ drive but is so rewarding with plenty of attractions along the way ranging from local people, farms with cattle, stunning vegetation cover, plantations and the rift valley escarpments among others. Lunch will be enjoyed along the way and upon arrival, you will head direct to your lodge, check in, have a relaxed dinner and overnight rest.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park
Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise: Enjoy your breakfast in time early in morning on day 2 of 5 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari then meet your driver to head out for an early morning game drive in the kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth national park which is the best sector for game drives in Queen. Being an early game drive, be sure to spot out the nocturnal mammals and hunters which are always active in the night, then proceed to encounter with the grazing mammals and many other wildlife that thrill in Queen Elizabeth national park. Amongst the wildlife seen on a game drive include; Hippos, elephants, zebras, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kob and many more.
After enjoying your game drive, return to the lodge for lunch and embark on a breathtaking afternoon boat cruise along the kazinga channel. Keep in mind that kazinga channel if famously known for harboring the largest population of Hippos thus while on the boat cruise, you will be in position to watch as many hippos as possible. Look out for other wildlife that flock the shores of kazinga channel to quench their thirst during the hot afternoons. After the boat cruise, you will return to your lodge for dinner and have an overnight sleep.

Day 3: Tree climbing Lions and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Tree climbing lions and transfer to Bwindi: Once you’re done with breakfast on day 3 of 5 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari, check out of the lodge with packed lunch and meet your safari driver for a transfer to Ishasha sector for yet another thrilling game drive to encounter with the tree climbing lions which are only found in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park and the other remaining population is found in Lake Manyara national park in Tanzania. This implies that there are only 2 destinations in the whole world where one can encounter with the tree climbing lions while on a safari and that is only Uganda the pearl of Africa and Tanzania. After the game drive, you will enjoy your picnic lunch under the tree shade or else visit any nearby hotel for a meal. After lunch, you will exit queen Elizabeth national park and drive towards far south western corner of Uganda direct to Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will be enjoy a breath taking mountain gorilla trekking adventure in any sector of the 4 sectors of the park (Buhoma, Rushaga, Nkuringo and Ruhija). Expect to arrive late in the evening for lodge check in, dinner and overnight rest.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi: After enjoying your early breakfast on day 4 of 5 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari, you are expected to meet with your safari driver (remember to pack enough drinking water, snacks and wear the best attire for the trek), your driver will then take you the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking, the don’ts and dos during the trek and many more. After briefing, you will be divided into different groups depending on the available gorilla families and then set off amidst armed rangers and local guides to search for these gorillas in the forest.
Gorilla trekking is always considered a full day adventure since no one is aware of how long the entire trek lasts since it always depends on the movement of these gorillas in the forest. So be ready to endure the hikes up and down following the mountain gorillas as they roam the forest. The entire trekking time as mentioned earlier depends on the movement of Gorillas, the speed of the trekkers in favor of the slowest person in the group and well as the nature of terrains. Bwindi has a lot of other attractions that you will likely see while on your trek including other primates, some mammals, birds, butterflies and many more.
Once you find the gorilla family, the maximum time allowed will be one hour for you to interact with Gorillas, take photos and record some videos and many more then later on exit the forest to the offices to obtain your Gorilla trekking certificate before returning to your lodge.
Later in the evening, you may enjoy a batwa experience where the local Batwa pygmies entertain you will fascinating music, dance and drama to make your evening more rewarding after an encounter with the gorillas. Dinner and overnight will be as above.

Day 5: Drive back to Kampala for departures
Drive back to Kampala: This is the last day of your 5 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari. Therefore, arise early again, have breakfast served at your lodge then check out and start the journey from Bwindi impenetrable national park back to Kampala. While in Mbarara city, you will enjoy a lunch break at Igongo cultural hotel or any other hotel of your choice than proceed you journey. Have a stopover at the equator in case you missed it out on the first day because you really need to take those photographs standing at the equator line. You safari will end in Kampala where you will arrive late in the evening. And in case you have a night flight, then you will be dropped at Entebbe international airport.
