Day 1: pick up and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On the 1st day of 4 days Rwanda mountain gorilla and golden monkey safari you are to arrive in Rwanda using Kigali International airport, upon your arrival you will meet our safari guide/driver who will give you a short briefing about the safari and then embark on a drive north of Kigali to Volcanoes national park. From Kigali to Volcanoes National Park it is a drive of about 3 hours and on your way you will enjoy rolling green hills and the locals. When you arrive in the park your will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: mountain gorilla tracking
On the 2nd day of the 4 days Rwanda mountain gorilla and golden monkey safari you are to have an adventurous mountain gorilla trekking safari, after early morning breakfast you will checkout of your lodge together with your packed lunch and head to volcano national park’s headquarters for a briefing session. Briefing is done before the activity and intends to highlight the trekkers about the do’s and don’ts to follow while on their encounter with mountain gorillas, you will also be grouped in groups of 8 people be assigned a mountain gorilla group to trek. From the park’s headquarters you will hike into the forests of volcanoes national park in search for mountain gorillas which takes about 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. When you find the gorillas, you are allowed to stay for only 1 hour in the presence of mountain gorillas taking pictures and admiring these creatures as they play along with their young ones and feeding them. After the safari you will head back to the park’s headquarters, meet your safari driver and head to your lodge, in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.
Day 3: Golden Mountain tracking
On the 3rd day of 4 days Rwanda mountain gorilla and golden monkey safari you are to do a golden monkey tracking experience, after breakfast which you will take as early as possible you will leave your lodge and head to the park’s headquarters by 6:00 am for briefing.
While at the park’s headquarters a ranger will brief you about how to behave will in the presence of the olive baboons and then hike into the forests in search for the olive baboons. Olive baboons in Volcanoes national people live in the bamboo vegetation and they are found in large troops, when you locate the olive baboon you will be amazed by their little cute faces and puffed cheeks they use to hold their fruits while picking them. You are to spend one hour in the presence of these cute little creatures and then trek back to the park’s headquarters then back to your lodge for lunch.
After lunch you can decide to stay and lounge around your lodge or go for an optional community visit in the Iby’Iwacu village “the guardian village” for an encounter with the locals. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.
Day 4: Kigali city tour and drop off
On the 4th day of 4 days Rwanda mountain gorilla and golden monkey safari you are to transfer back to Kigali, have a short city and have a drop-off, after morning breakfast at your lodge you will checkout and together with your safari drive you will embark on drive back to Kigali. When you arrive in Kigali you will have a short city tour visiting sites such as Kigali genocide memorial site in Gisozi to learn more about the 1994 Kigali genocide, Rwanda Museum to learn about the history of Rwanda, Kimironko market for souvenir shopping and many more depending on the time of your departure flight. After the city tour you will have lunch and then be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight.
