Day 1: Pick up from Kigali, City Tour and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Your Uganda gorilla safari starts either with pick up from your hotel in Kigali City or upon arrival at Kigali International Airport where our representative will meet you and give you a short briefing about the safari and what to expect. Then go for a Kigali City Tour visiting the Genocide Site where you will get more information on how over 250,000 Rwandans were killed.
After lunch, you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest crossing the border through Gatuna. You arrive in the evening and check in your reserved lodge. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay as you prepare for an adventurous gorilla trek the following day.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
Wake up early for breakfast, meet your driver and embark on a journey to the park’s headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking, what to expect, behavior and history of Bwindi Forest. In groups of 8 people, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek then head into the forests looking for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night, during the trek the ranger will provide more information concerning the park and on your way you will spot other primates, butterflies and different bird species as flora and fauna.
You will spend one hour with the gorillas watching them play, feed and groom, some chilling and mothers breastfeeding their young ones. If you are lucky, they can get closer to you and this shouldn’t frighten you, the dominant silverback is always there to protect its family. With all this in mind, keep a distance, avoid eye contact s this is a threat to them and also don’t carry the baby gorillas. It is perfectly fine to take pictures of yourself with the gorillas as they go on with their activities.
With a memorable time with the primates, you are returned back to the park headquarters and collect your gorilla certificates of participation. Our guide is already waiting for you, you proceed to the lodge, rest at leisure and in the afternoon, you go for a cultural visit to see the Batwa, these are the people who grew up in the forest. They will entertain you as they sing, dance and do drama.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and embark on a journey to Kigali City with border crossing at Cyanika Border. Along the way you will enjoy amazing views of the terraced hills of Kabale and Rwanda – the land of thousand hills. Arrive in the evening, check in at the airport for your flight back home.
