Detailed Itinerary of 3 Days Rwanda Chimpanzee Tracking and Lake Kivu Tour
Day 1: Pick up and Drive to Nyungwe Forest and Canopy Walk
You shall be picked up by our representative (your driver-guide) from your hotel in Kigali at 7 am or at Kigali International Airport and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park in southwestern Rwanda. It is a journey of 5-6 hours with a stopover in Butare for lunch and when you arrive in the park, go for a canopy walk tour starting at 3 pm which is a 1.5 to 2 hours walk depending on your fitness.
After enjoying scenic views of the rainforest and several creatures like bird species and species like black and white colobus monkeys among others. You shall be transferred to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Kibuye/Lake Kivu
Wake up early for a delicious breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to the park headquarters as early as 5 am. A senior ranger guide will brief you about the safari then head into the rainforest
The trek takes approximately 2 to 4 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. Once you locate the gorilla family, spend one hour in their presence watching these primates play, feed, groom and jump from one tree branch to another. After this amazing primate safari experience, you will trek back to the starting point, meet your driver guide and return to your lodge for lunch.
Then check out of the lodge and journey to Kibuye a beautiful town along the shores of Lake Kivu. Arrive in the evening, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning Boat Ride on Lake Kivu and Transfer back to Kigali
Enjoy a delicious breakfast, then set out for a 2 hours morning boat ride on Lake Kivu to explore the scenic shores on the lake and some of the islands found in the lake. After lunch you shall depart for Kigali where you will be dropped off either at your hotel or at the airport for your flight back home or to your next destination.
