Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Kidepo and afternoon Game Drive in Narus Valley

Depart Entebbe airport on a scheduled connecting domestic flight operated by Aero-link, which operates only on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday to Kidepo departing at 12:30 hours arriving Kidepo valley national park at 14:45 hours. This 2 hours flight will allow you beautiful Arial views of the lush countryside.

Upon arrival at Apoka airfield, meet your driver/guide will be waiting to transfer you to the lodge for check-in and lunch. Later afternoon, head out for a game drive to explore the remarkable landscapes of Kidepo including the magical Narus Valley where you will have many chances of seeing a range of game including the herds of Cape Buffaloes, African elephants, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Klipspringer, Jackals and possibly Lions among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Kidpeo Savannah Lodge for budget/Zebra Safari Lodge for mid-range option

Game Drive in Narus Valley

Day 2: Full day game drive – Kidepo valley

After breakfast, drive to Kidepo valley as you admire the true wilderness and an out of the world experience! Kidepo valley game drive is rewarding through the open savannah, rocky outcrops, forests and rings of mountains. Expect to find animals, the rare ostrich bird, and other birds in the wilderness of Kidepo valley.  Embrace yourself for photo opportunities and chances of catching sight of more wildlife especially lions sitting on the rocks as they scan the park for possible prey. Drive back to the lodge to relax and have lunch. Spend your afternoon relaxing at the lodge, dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above

Day 3: Game drive in Narus Valley and afternoon community tour

Wake up early and connect for a morning game drive in Narus valley. As you enjoy your game drive, bush breakfast will be served and return for more adventure in the savannah plains of Kidepo valley national park on your morning game drive in Narus valley. This area is famous for finding the big 4 game including the lions, elephants, leopards and buffaloes. If you are lucky, you will spot the Cheetahs and hyenas as well. Other animals to be found include the kobs, Oribi, Zebras, the giraffes to mention a few.  Return to the lodge for lunch.

Later afternoon, drive to visit one of the communities staying around the park for a Karamojong cultural experience. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above

Day 4: Climb Mount Morungole to visit the IK tribe (4hrs up, 2hrs down)

After breakfast, drive to the starting point of Mount Morungole located in the absolute northern hills of Karamoja. Here is where we find the smallest tribe of Uganda called the IK. The IK people lived in nowadays Kidepo valley national park but were misplaced when the area was gazetted as a national park. The IK now live on Mount Morungole ridges as a community. Visiting the IK people gives visitors a rare insight into the unique tribe/culture in Africa. You will also enjoy the beautiful scenery, the higher the climb takes you, the more breath-taking the scenes in the valleys below and into the Eastern rift valley of Kenya and over to southern Sudan. After the hike, drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay

Day 5: Fly back to Entebbe

Have breakfast, check-out of the lodge and drive to Apoka airstrip for your return flight to Entebbe airport, departing at 14:00 hours and arrive at Entebbe at 15:00 hours. End of safari
