Summer activities in Uganda  : Summer in Uganda is one of its kind, of course highlighted by the sun and heat but most of the safaris and the activities that come with the safaris.

Uganda has a number of different attractions from the different wildlife species, a number of monuments that attracts hundreds and thousands of travellers to visit the country to take part in the memorable Uganda safaris. The mountain gorillas are the most famous tourist attractions in the country which has attracted a number of travellers to visit the country to learn more about the endangered mountain gorillas in the wild.

The people of Uganda are among the most hospitable people in the world with evidence of a number of ethnicities and people from different parts of the world that can be seen in different areas in the country mingling with the locals therefore once you visit the country don’t hesitate to ask for help when you’re stuck anywhere because the people will offer assistance at any given time to ensure you have an amazing time in the country. Their genuine and warm smiles that they offer when they see a new person in their space for the first time will not only fill your heart with happiness but also make you feel at home.  The people of Uganda are quite hospitable and are famous for their ‘’jangu tulye’’ line which translates to ‘’come eat with us’’ regardless whether they know you or not they always have an extra plate for a known or unknown visitor which makes them quite welcoming and fun to be around with as you get to explore their unique cultures.

Primate trekking is one of the most sought after activities in the country with over 10,000 people engaging in mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park and Mgahinga National Park; Chimpanzee trekking in Kibaale National Park, Kyambura gorge, budongo forest and Ngamba Island; Golden monkey trekking in Mgahinga National park; and spotting as many primate species in these places.

Game drives are as popular as the trekking experiences, and in some seasons even more sought after, game drives involved the driving in through different game parks to spot wild animals, birds as you enjoy the vegetation.  Most famous game drives in Uganda are done in Kidepo National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Murchison Falls National Park and Lake Mburo National Park.

At all these parks you are assured of seeing the big five animals on your trip. And if you miss out the rhinos, you will be sure to catch them at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where rhino tracking is done all year round.

Boat rides on Lake Victoria, the Nile river, Kazinga channel are also other activities that can one can engage in as they visit Uganda.

Bird watching; where you get to watch the different bird species in different habitats; nature walks, forest walks, water fall experiences and many other activities are some of the summer highlights you will get on your time in Uganda.

If you are a water person the Jinja Itanda falls are ones you should check out, for white water rafting, bunjee jumping and many other water activities. You can also check the Sipi falls, sezzibwa falls, aruu falls among others.

In Eastern Uganda you can actually tour coffee plantations to learn more about Uganda’s main cash crop.

In the capital Kampala you will have city tours or walks to explore the 7 hills of the capital and other monumental places like the museum, the former torture chambers, the Buganda kingdom palace, the nakasero market,  religious buildings and other interesting places.
