Detailed Itinerary of 5 days Queen Elizabeth Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking safari
Day 1: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
To mark the start of your safari, our safari guide will pick up from Entebbe International airport upon arrival, after a short safari briefing and warm welcome you will embark on a journey to Queen Elizabeth national park via Masaka – Mbarara Highway. Along the way you will a stopover in Kayabwe for pictures at the Equator lines and another stopover in Mbarara for lunch, then proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park with a lot of fascinating views of the rolling hills and crater lakes and great vegetation. Arrive in the park in evening and embark on an evening game drive where you will see various wildlife including elephants, cape buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs among others. After the sunset you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive, Boat Ride on the Kazinga Channel
Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park for an exploration adventure in the Kasenyi plains and viewing of wildlife, during the game drive look out for animals like Uganda Kobs, elephants, buffaloes, lions, waterbucks, hyenas among others. You will also enjoy views of the stunning crater lakes and the summit of Mount Rwenzori, you will spend 4 hours in the park then head to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon you will head to the amazing Kazinga channel for a boat cruise, Kazinga channel is one of the trade mark features in Queen Elizabeth national park connecting Lake George to Lake Edward. Kazinga channel attracts a huge population of water birds such as African fish eagles, pied Kingfishers and cormorants and many water animals such as hippos, crocodiles, cape buffaloes, waterbucks, elephants, monitor lizards among others which you will enjoy watching during the boat cruise along the channel.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Have early breakfast, checkout and head to the Southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park – Ishasha sector famous for the tree climbing lions which you will be able to spot as they rest of fig trees and trying to hunt. You will then proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park a home for the endangered mountain gorillas, you will arrive in time for lunch which you will have at the lodge then have an evening of resting as you prepare for the mountain gorilla trekking experience the next day. Dinner and over night at your lodge.

Destination: Bwindi impenetrable national park
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park
Have early breakfast and head to park’s headquarters for briefing about mountain gorilla trekking experience, the briefing marks the start of mountain gorilla trekking experience and you will be taken through the rules and regulations to follow during gorilla trekking, be grouped into 8 people and then be assigned a gorilla group to trek. Trek into the thick forest of Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas, the trek takes about 4-5 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent the previous night. You will be allowed to stay for one hour in the presence of the gorilla while taking pictures and witnessing their behavior which is similar to human. After the experience you will trek back to the park’s headquarter where you will be rewarded with gorilla trekking certificates then head back to your lodge. Have an evening of resting, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala
After breakfast, you will check out of lodge and embark on a journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch in Mbarara, when you arrive in Kampala you will be dropped off either at the airport for your flight back home or at the hotel in Entebbe.
