Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park Game drive and boat cruise
Depending on your location, meet your safari driver as early as 5 am and transfer to Lake Mburo National park. The park is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks and underlain by ancient Precambrian metamorphic rocks. It’s a 4-5 hours’ drive to the park. Upon arrival, connect for a morning game drive for animals like the buffaloes, giraffes, Zebras, Impalas and other residents found in the park.
Connect for lunch in one of the lodges at the park, go on a boat trip on Lake Mburo for different animals like hippos and land animals and different birds. After the boat cruise, connect to your booked lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Eagles Nest Lodge for budget/Mpogo Lodge for mid-range
Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel
After early breakfast early morning, transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, which is about 4-5 hours’ drive from Lake Mburo national park. Upon arrival, connect to your booked lodge for lunch. Later afternoon, connect for a boat cruise along Kazinga channel where you will get an opportunity to see a number of bird species, elephants and buffaloes, hippos and crocodiles. The Kazinga channel is known to have the highest concentration of hippos. Retreat from the boat trip in the evening and check in your lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at Bush Lodge for budget/Elephant Hub Lodge for mid-range
Day 3: Morning game Drive in Kasenyi area and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Go for an early morning game drive and lion tracking in Queen Elizabeth national park where you will spot a lot of wildlife including African elephants, Lions, buffalos, antelopes, impala, among others and a lot of birds and a good day the leopards.
Thereafter, transfer to Bwindi forest national park. It’s about 4 to 5 hours journey with en-route game drive in Ishasha sector for chances of seeing the tree climbing lions and lunch. Upon arrival to the park area, you will proceed and check in your lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Community Rest Camp for budget/Buhoma Haven lodge for mid-range
Day 4: Gorilla trekking experience – Buhoma sector
Have breakfast and transfer you to park offices for briefing about Mountain Gorilla trekking by a local guide. The time taken is usually between 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Meeting the gorillas unexpectedly is one of the most captivating lifetime experiences. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures at very close range. You will observe adults feeding and groaning among themselves. After an hour with the long-awaited gorillas, your guide and rangers will lead you back to the starting point where your driver will readily be waiting to transfer you back to the lodge for a restful evening.
Those will stay back at the lodge will go for a community walk to the community around the park (this activity is optional to do so it’s not included in the tour price below). Have dinner and overnight stay as lodge above
Day 5: Transfer back to Entebbe/Kampala – Departure
After breakfast, check-out of the lodge and embark on your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe with en-route stop for lunch and at the Uganda Equator. Upon arrival and depending on your drop off advice, you will either be dropped at a location you advise the driver or at the airport for your departure flight back home
