Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park – boat trip on Lake Mburo
Depending on your location in Kampala/Entebbe, start your safari as early as 6 am with a transfer to Lake Mburo National park. It’s a 4-5 hours’ drive arriving at the park at good time for lunch. After lunch, proceed for an afternoon boat trip on Lake Mburo for different animals like hippos and land animals and different birds. Return in the evening to prepare for dinner at Eagles Nest lodge for budget/ Arcadia Cottages for mid-range
Day 2: Morning game drive – transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Early morning after breakfast, head out for a game drive in search for the early risers on a good day you may spot the lions and the leopards. Other animals to find include; Giraffes, Zebras, Impalas, waterbucks, Buffaloes, warthogs, just to mention a few. Do not forget to carry your camera in order to keep all your memories forever intact and also to ensure not to miss out a detail on your amazing trip.
After the game drive, drive out of the park and connect to Mbrara city for en-route lunch then proceed Bwindi impenetrable national park, which is about 4-5 hours’ drive. Upon arrival late afternoon, dinner and overnight, stay at Buhoma Community Rest Camp for budget/Buhoma Haven Lodge for mid-range
Day 3: Gorilla trekking Uganda – Bwindi
Enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing by the ranger guides and later head into the forest for your trek. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. These primates roam the park freely and there is no way of telling where they will be for a particular day. On finding them, you will be allowed 1 hour to view and take photos of these gentle primates, enjoy your lunch packs and meet your driver / guide and transfer back to your lodge. The time after trekking can be spent on a village tour or lazing off at the hotel as you savoir the memories of your gorilla trek in Bwindi and prepare for the next day. Day 4: Full day Lake Bunyonyi
After early morning breakfast, drive to Kabale district to lake Bunyonyi. The lake is located between Kisoro and Kabale in the southwestern Uganda close to the border with Rwanda and it’s believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa with the depth between 44m and 900m deep and width of about 7 to 25kms. The driver will drive slowly so you can enjoy pictures of the rolling hills of the region. It’s usually one and a half hours drive with lunch stopover. Upon arrival at Lake Bunyonyi with great scenic views of surrounding hills, connect for a boat ride/ canoe paddle and visit the main islands including the community. The islands at the lake have great history that you will love to listen. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Arcadia Cottages for mid-range/Bunyonyi Eco-lodge for budget
Day 5: Transfer back to Entebbe and Departure
You will enjoy breakfast and transfer back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara town for en-route lunch and stop at the Uganda Equator. Proceed to Kampala/Entebbe arriving in the afternoon. You will be dropped off at a location you advise or at Entebbe airport for your onward flight.
