Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park – Chimpanzee trekking
As early as 6 am, transfer to Kibale national park with en-route early lunch. Connect the park headquarters for briefing for your afternoon chimpanzee trekking experience. You will go for chimpanzee trekking with your allocated ranger guides. Enter the rainforest in searching for the chimpanzee; this will take 2-5 hours to find the chimpanzees. On seeing them, you will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees while taking pictures. After tracking, drive to Fort portal Town for dinner and overnight stay at Kibale Forest Lodge for budget/Chimpanzee Forest Lodge for mid-range/Chimpundu Lodge for luxury
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park – Southern part
After breakfast early in the morning, transfer to Bwindi national park, which is about 5-7 hour’s drive depending on your trekking sector. Arrive in the park late afternoon and connect to your lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge for mid-range/ Bweza Gorilla Lodge for budget/Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge for luxury
Day 3: Gorilla habituation experience
Enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing by the ranger guides and later head into the forest for your trek. Gorilla habituation in Bwindi involves visiting a semi-habituated gorilla family that is under the process of habituation. This activity takes a whole day and you are granted 4 hours to stay with the gorillas. After the habituation experience, meet your guide and drive back to your lodge to rest. Dinner and overnight at Lodge as above
Day 4: Transfer back to Entebbe and Departure
You will enjoy breakfast and transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe, which is about 9-10 hours drive with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch. Proceed to Kampala/Entebbe arriving in late afternoon. You will be drop off at the hotel in either Kampala/Entebbe as you advise or at Entebbe airport for your onward flight back home.
