This 3 Days Chimpanzee Trekking Safari is a short Uganda Chimpanzee Safari offering you the most convenient way to view the chimpanzees in their natural habitat of Uganda. Day 1: Reaching Kibale National Park
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport or after breakfast, you will meet your guide and embark on a journey to Kibale Forest National Park in western Uganda. This journey takes approximately 5 to 6 hours through Kampala – Mubende beautiful country side, traditional homesteads, local people, terraced farmlands, tea and banana plantations, crater lakes among others as Rwenzori Mountains range. On arrival at Kibale Forest National Park, you will check in at your lodge.
Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight at Chimpudu Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 3 Days Chimpanzee Trekking Safari in Uganda, meet your driver and head to the park headquarters for briefing. A ranger guide takes you through rules and regulations to follow while in the forest and presence of chimpanzees.
Head into the forests of Kibale looking for chimpanzees, the trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the chimpanzees and where they spent their previous night. Your park guide who is well conversant with the trails within forest during this Uganda Safari, it should be noted that all these times are estimates because chimpanzee move according to their won will. While trekking guests may spot other animals such as butterflies, birds, trees, plants, mammals including primates among others. When found, the visitors spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which allows watching different behaviors exhibited by these animals feed themselves breastfeed, play, hunt or even taking some photos for memories using non flash camera. After this experience, meet up with driver guide and return back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, take a fascinating nature walk in Bigodi Sanctuary where you will be able to see various primates like black and white colobus monkeys,L’Hoest’s monkey ,red-tailed monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey as well as mammals such bushbucks,sitatunga among many others not forgetting different bird species such great blue turaco,green-breasted pitta,papyrus gonolek colorful butterflies during this uganda safari . Later drive back to the lodge for an evening at leisure, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Departure to Kampala
On the last day of the 3 Days Chimpanzee Trekking Safari in Uganda, after breakfast, checkout of your lodge and meet driver guide who transfers you to Kampala. You will have en-route lunch stopover at Igongo Cultural Centre then continue with journey until when you reach Kampala early evening hours.
If you have time, you will have a stopover at some craft shops or markets for souvenirs before being dropped either Entebbe International Airport catch up departure flight or any other advised place. This brings your safari to an end
